Hello, My name is Yamila Benson-Luna, and I come from a long line of Mustangs that includes my most cherished and truly missed Mustang, #64, my Grandad Robert Benson. You may know him as Robert Lee Jones.  There's also the sweetest cheerleader I know, my Mamu, Bertha Fay. There are many more aunts and uncles from the Fay and Benson clan. What can I say? Purple and gold runs deep in our family.

My parents are Alfonso Luna and Sabrina Benson. I am a senior at J. Frank Dobie High School in Houston Texas,  where I am involved in choir and swimming. Upon graduation, my plans are to attend Texas State University, and major in Health Science. I love serving my community by volunteering at our local food bank, school events, and serving around Houston alongside my church. I also spend my summers working as a lifeguard and teaching kids how to swim. 
I am a worship leader at Space City Church, in Houston Texas, where I have had the privilege to sing in front of thousands of people, and am involved with our youth ministry. 

For the past 4 years, I have been a Houston model for Argueta Pixels, local boutiques, and several clothing brands. 

Lastly, I want to thank you for the privilege of serving as your queen. It is not something I take lightly, but hold to the highest regard and will do my best to honor this position. Thank you very much!
